Reflection 1
My name is Priscilla Palomino I am taking reading 91, because I need the credit in order to get a degree and also that’s what I tested into. My goal for college is to join the Christian club and to eventually get a degree in graphic design. Outside of class I play the drums, love playing soccer and in my free time I help my mom take care of a puppy. Laurie is not a regular dog; she is in training to become a service dog.
I also, like to play video games, watch movies, going to starbucks and I like to make friendship bracelets. During the summer I went to a concert with a bunch of hardcore bands, this tour was called scream the prayer, an all Christian tour. I don’t speak any other language other than English, but I want to learn Dutch, my ancestor’s language. Maybe even learn Italian, because they have nice ascents. Furthermore, Italians have really good food.
Reflection 2
This week I went to school and had a job interview. I planned on watching movies, but life isn’t always how you plan it. Sometimes we have to do things we didn’t plan on doing. I need to apply for more jobs, and get more applications. I need to get more motivated to do all my home work. I need to read more books and find more stuff to do at college. I need to look when clubs start back up and I need to join a club. I definitely, need to find a job and save up for college.
Reflection 3
Well I did a lot this week; I mainly worked on my reading lab. I don’t like my reading lab, it is really hard to do. I talked with my partner about vocabulary and what book she would like to read. I think I’m going to be reading House on Mango Street. It’s a fun book about a poor Mexican girl, who hates her House on Mango Street. It every well, she learned about the things a I’m learning. When we first began, I was really unsure how is would go. Like is she really going to learn anything but she learned a few new vocabulary words. I felt fine during the activity, a little nervous, but the nerves went away. I felt not much different; I already do a lot of volunteering on my own time.
Reflection 4

The reading lesson went well, and there was no complications. I felt fine, not nervous at all, teaching is fun. I felt thrilled to be teaching, that’s how I felt during the reading activity. I didn’t do much this week other than homework. I went to school, and then I came home and did my homework. Then on Thursday I will be going to a church Bible group to meet other college kids which share my faith. I did meet with my partner this week and we did the lesson on chapter three through four. It went well; I read my mini lesson on chapter three through four. I felt good before we did the lesson. I felt good during the activity, like I was helping someone learn something. I felt afterwards a sense of goodness, that I did something that will benefit someone.
Reflection 7
My progress with my reading partner is going well. My partner has learned so much in the last couple of weeks. She has learned about House on Mango Street and what vignettes are. She has learned about main point and topics and how to find them in essays. We talked about vocabulary one week, and the other weeks we learned about the Main Idea. My plan on doing the main points of the lesson, and basically summing the lesson up all in one to make it easy on my reading partner. My plans for Into the Street, well I have classes so nothing. I am not participating in Into the Streets.
